Join us at the WTCS OER Symposium - Oct 28 & 29

  This free Symposium is a space for inclusive and open sharing and conversation, and creating meaningful collaborations to advance OER work. All are welcome to attend and contribute. Dr. Shinta Hernandez is the keynote speaker. The Open RN team will be presenting along with many other sessions tailored for faculty interesting in reusing, remixing, and creating OER for their courses. Proposals are still being accepted for the OER Symposium until Sept 24th at 4pm. If you are currently using OER in your courses, please share your experience with others! OE Global 2021 presentation

  The Open Education Global 2021 conference starts with the Online Conference taking place from Monday September 27 to Friday October 1. Each day will focus on a different UNESCO OER Recommendation action area. Through webinars and interactive sessions, participants contribute ideas to help with the implementation of the Recommendation. View the Open RN  OE Global 2021 conference presentation .

Quarterly Monitoring Report, Second Quarter, Year 3

  Here is the quarterly program update report  sent to the Department of Education and a high level overview of the grant progress from this quarter: Open RN e-books reached over one million page views by over 320,000 international users this month! Several colleges across the country have adopted one or more of the Open RN textbooks. The Nursing Fundamentals e-book was published in July in Pressbooks. The Nursing Fundamentals , Nursing Skills and Nursing Pharmacology textbooks have been uploaded to LibreTexts for easy remixing. XanEdu will publish the optional, affordable, soft-cover print version of Open RN Nursing Fundamentals this fall. The development of the Nursing Management and Professional Concepts e-book is nearing completion in Pressbooks and will undergo piloting and national peer review in January 2022. Additional information will be sent later this fall to individuals who registered on the Open RN

Celebrating Health Care Simulation Week

  We celebrated  Healthcare Simulation Week 2021   by demonstrating Open RN Virtual Reality scenarios to faculty and students in CVTC's Simulation Lab. You can view a video of  virtual students working within Open RN VR scenarios as they care for virtual patients.  Open RN's work on virtual reality was featured in local news outlets this week: Meeting virtual patients | Front Page | leadertelegram.com   (The Leader Telegram has a paywall, so the story can be read   here .) CVTC unveils reality simulator for health care students (wqow.com) The next VR Scenario Plan for " Caring for a Pediatric Patient Experiencing Pain " was also released this week.
