Model of the Information Search Process

As the workgroups for the Fundamentals and Skills OER textbooks have started the development process, I am reminded of the "Model of the Information Search Process" that one of the CVTC Librarians shared with the Pharmacology workgroup as we were getting started in Summer 2019.  It is important for developers to understand the common thoughts, feelings and actions associated with creating OER textbooks, and Kuhlthau explains it well in this model.  We all start with feelings of uncertainty, vagueness and doubt as explore relevant, evidence-based sources for our chapters.  But eventually, as we actively work with the content, feelings of clarity and a sense of direction and confidence develop as we put the materials together and eventually create a satisfying product!
